CALTRAN has completed preliminary engineering and design tasks, including reports, planning development of alternatives, conceptual design, corridor studies, simulations, and GIS.

Concurrent with traffic and planning, CALTRAN manages or directs projects that involve traffic impact studies, traffic circulation, PD&E, modeling, traffic forecasting, signalization, scoping reports, and safety countermeasures.

    TRAFFIC ENGINEERING
  • HIGHWAY / ROADWAY DESIGN

In addition to roadway and highway design, CALTRAN has been involved in drainage, tolling facilities and systems, large guide signs, dynamic message signs, small signing, pavement markings, ITS, roadway lighting, and traffic control.

CALTRAN has experience in Project Management Oversight; Plans, Specifications and Estimates (PS&E) processing and revision; construction phase services; Resurfacing, Restoration and Rehabilitation (RRR) work; Roadway Design of New Construction, Reconstruction and Widening; Planning and Environmental; and Hydraulic & Hydrology on Design-Build (DB) and Design-Bid-Build projects.

    HIGHWAY / ROADWAY DESIGN
  • PLANNING

CALTRAN has provided for FDOT in various Multimodal District Offices consulting services for Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Pavement Management System Analysis, Traffic Monitoring Site (TMS) site selection/location and design, Roadway Characteristics Inventory (RCI), Highway Performance Monitoring System (HPMS), and Railroad-Highway Crossing Inventory and Inspection.

    PLANNING
  • MULTIMODAL & FREIGHT

CALTRAN has produced for FDOT a great number of scoping reports for reconstruction and resurfacing roadway projects, numerous roadway design and planning projects. CALTRAN has taken part in freight evaluations, transit services, FTA inspections, scoping reports, traffic forecasting and modeling, and Pavement Management Process.

    MULTIMODAL & FREIGHT
  • CEI AND MAINTENANCE

CALTRAN provides CEI Services to manage and inspect roadway construction projects and provide support in administration, daily inspection, project documentation, submittal review, design support, constructability reviews, value engineering, and materials testing throughout the construction project’s life. Our team provides support to FDOT’s maintenance unit.
